Obituary for Toshiko H. Higa

Higa, Toshiko ‘Larrie’ (85)  Higa, Toshiko ‘Larrie,’ beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 11, 2010.  She is survived by loving husband, Charlie, daughters Michele & Mary (Jeremy), son Robert, grandchildren Kyle, Brianna and Emiko, & grand-dogs Rita & Karenin.  Toshiko was born on July 12, 1924, in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii to Chokame and Tsuru Hokama.  She loved traveling through the years to Japan, China, Alaska & Puerto Rico.  She valued her friends and family, which resulted in wonderful life-long friendships and relationships.  She also took great pride in owning her own jewelry business, Monarch-Covina, for many years, where she counted many of her customers as dear friends.  After retiring, she found joy in volunteering at Keiro Nursing Home, visiting her grandchildren and taking a recent 3-week trip to Lanai.  She will be remembered for her loving, compassionate heart, which she extended to her husband, Charlie, her kids, grandchildren, grand-dogs and all those she came in contact with.

A memorial service will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, 2115 West 182nd Street, Torrance, CA on Tuesday, April 20 at 2:00pm.  Family requests that flowers be omitted and for casual attire.

Note: Flower orders for the service of Toshiko H have been requested to be omitted.
