Obituary for Yoshito Yamada

YAMADA, Yoshito (96) veteran of WWII, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Congressional Gold Medal and Purple Heart recipient, peacefully passed away on April 29, 2013 in Simi Valley after a brief illness. He was born in Parlier, CA but lived in Kingsburg most of his life until he moved to Nikkei Senior Gardens in Arleta, CA on his 95th birthday.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Yamada; children, JoAnn (Neil) Komai and David (Leslie) Yamada; granddaughter, Allison Yamada; brothers, Hidemi (Ellen) and Suyenori (Toni) Yamada; sisters-in-law, Hatsuki and Yoshi Yamada, Edith (Art) Mikamo; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

A private funeral service was held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Senshin Buddhist Temple.
 
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 12:00PM at Kingsburg Buddhist Church, 831 Orange St., Kingsburg, CA with burial service immediately to follow at Kingsburg Cemetery, 12782 E. Clarkson Ave., Kingsburg, CA.
